Campaign targeting road users in Katherine

The Northern Substance Abuse Investigation Division along with Northern Traffic Operations conducted a campaign yesterday, targeting road users travelling south from Katherine.

One person was arrested for breach of bail and possession of cannabis in a public place, with another issued a Notice to Appear for driving unlicensed.

Three drug infringement notices and a tobacco infringement notice were issued, with eight litres of alcohol being destroyed.

Two banned drinker orders were extended.

Notices were also issued for 15 traffic infringements and two defects.

Officer in Charge Traffic Operations, Senior Sergeant Angela Stringer said that all areas of NT Police are committed to working together to target criminal activity.

"These operations are ongoing and may result in fines, arrests or seizure of your vehicles."
