At its 21 October meeting, Campaspe Shire Council unanimously voted to waive the general admission fees for its outdoor pools for the upcoming summer season. From Saturday, 29 November 2025, residents and visitors can enjoy complimentary access to the Colbinabbin, Kyabram, Lockington, Rushworth, Stanhope and Tongala pools.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Cr Daniel Mackrell said the decision reflects Council's ongoing commitment to supporting community wellbeing through the Council & Wellbeing Plan and providing accessible recreational opportunities.
"As a council, we're proud to continue offering free pool access this summer.
"It's a practical way to support families, encourage healthy lifestyles, and help people stay cool and connected during the warmer months.
"The initiative has been well received in recent years, so we're looking forward to another busy and vibrant season utilising our aquatic facilities," Cr Mackrell added.
To support the safety of users in the event of an emergency, residents attending the pools will be required to complete a free online membership registration.
"Registering online helps us respond quickly in an emergency and keep kids safe while they enjoy the pool.
"It's free, easy, and makes sure everyone can swim with peace of mind," Cr Mackrell said.
The outdoor pools will be open from Saturday 29 November 2025 until Monday 9 March 2026 and during school term are open from 4-8pm on weekdays and 1-8pm weekends. Over the school holidays the pools are open from 1-8pm every day except Christmas Day.
Please note that fees still apply for pool usage outside of operational hours, including school swimming lessons and bookings such as carnivals.
