Campaspe Shire Council's community newsletter Campaspe Times is moving to a predominantly digital format, making it easier for residents to stay informed while reducing costs and environmental impact.

Council has taken the practical step of transitioning the long-running community newsletter online, allowing savings in printing and delivery to be redirected into projects and services that benefit the community.

The move also marks the final edition of Campaspe Times being automatically delivered to households.

Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Daniel Mackrell said the change reflects Council's focus on making the best use of available resources while improving accessibility.

"Moving Campaspe Times online allows us to reduce costs and environmental impact, while making it even easier for residents to access important local information wherever they are," the Mayor said.

"Residents can now read the newsletter on their phone, tablet or computer, share it with others, and stay up to date whether they're at home or away."

The digital format will continue to provide local news, community updates, and information about Council services, projects and events.

While the focus shifts online, Council recognises that some residents still prefer printed material. From the Spring issue in September a limited number of printed copies will remain available at customer service centres and selected outlets across the shire. Copies will also be distributed to aged care facilities to support access for older residents, with mail delivery available on request.

Alongside this transition, Council is introducing Campaspe Headlines, a new fortnightly e-newsletter summarising key Council activities and updates from the previous two weeks.
