The Government of Canada is taking another step toward strengthening Canada's AI landscape by promoting responsible artificial intelligence (AI) adoption, supporting talent development and advancing sovereign AI infrastructure goals.
The Honourable Joël Lightbound, Minister of Government Transformation, Public Works and Procurement and Quebec Lieutenant; and the Honourable Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, are pleased to announce the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Coveo Solutions Inc., a Canadian leader in AI technologies.
Shared Services Canada (SSC) and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) will work with Coveo to explore the deployment of Canadian-developed, AI-powered enterprise solutions across the Government of Canada. This MOU reflects the government's commitment to modernizing public services, strengthening digital sovereignty and ensuring that Canadian innovation is at the heart of government transformation.
Through this collaboration, the government will assess how generative and agentic AI, advanced search and personalized recommendation technologies can improve service delivery for Canadians, reduce administrative burden and make government operations more efficient and responsive. The focus will be on identifying practical use cases that modernize internal operations, increase productivity and deliver better, faster services to people and businesses across the country.
This agreement supports the government's broader commitment to building a more efficient, innovative public service while growing Canada's AI ecosystem. By working with Coveo, a Canadian technology leader, the Government of Canada is investing in homegrown solutions, supporting high-quality jobs and ensuring that Canadian-made technology helps shape the future of digital government for Canadians, by Canadians.
