The Law Commission of Canada (LCC) is pleased to share its Annual Report for 2025-2026 following its tabling in Parliament.
The Annual Report highlights the Commission's work and achievements over the past reporting year, providing updates on projects and programs for the period of 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026. The report reflects the LCC's signature combination of scholarly research, engagement with community-based actors, and outreach to members of the Canadian public.
A major milestone during the reporting year is the launch of the LCC's Rule of Law Commitment. Responding to a moment of pronounced interest in democratic institutions, accountability, fairness, and responsible governance, the LCC is both proud and uniquely situated to take on a significant role in nourishing knowledge, reflection, and participation related to the meaning and practice of rule of law in Canada.
