Canada Public Service Commission 2024-25 Report Out

Public Service Commission of Canada

The Public Service Commission of Canada (PSC) released its Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2024 to 2025, which provides a snapshot of the health and integrity of the staffing system and the non-partisanship in the federal public service.

As Canada navigates unprecedented challenges, the PSC's role in supporting and safeguarding a merit-based and non-partisan public service is more essential than ever. Through its oversight mandate, it provides a public-service-wide perspective, identifying key trends and opportunities to enhance the staffing system and ensure Canadians are served by a skilled, representative and trusted public administration.

The report also highlights how the PSC is responding to evolving staffing challenges by streamlining its work and providing proactive support to meet the needs of departments and agencies as they bring renewed focus and accountability to serving the people of Canada.

Looking ahead, the PSC is leveraging emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to improve service delivery while safeguarding integrity in recruitment and assessment. Building a modern, diverse and service-oriented workforce is central to renewing the public service. This means prioritizing student recruitment to build capacity in high-demand and specialized fields, while also supporting opportunities for veterans, people belonging to equity-seeking groups and persons with a priority entitlement to available public service jobs.
