Cancer Council NSW is proud to announce a new collaboration with EML Group (EML), to further Cancer Council's mission of reducing the impact of cancer for all Australians.
EML has been a trusted name in workers compensation and insurance for over 110 years, helping Australians navigate illness and injury in the workplace. Their long-standing commitment to worker wellbeing aligns closely with our own values.
Made possible by the Mutual Benefits Program, together, we will deliver a series of initiatives throughout 2025 designed to empower EML customers and their employees with the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to reduce their cancer risk.
A focus on skin cancer prevention
Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, with over 95% of cases caused by solar ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Across Australia, it is estimated that approximately 17,756 people will be diagnosed with melanoma this year, with around 1,281 deaths expected.
This partnership will place a strong focus on sun protection for outdoor workers, including the development of a practical, evidence-based resource tool for employers.
What to expect in 2025
Throughout the year, EML customers and their teams will have the opportunity to engage with Cancer Council through:
- Educational events and training sessions
- Access to expert-led resources on cancer prevention
- Collaborative projects focused on workplace health and safety
By working together, we aim to reduce the impact of cancer and support safer, healthier workplaces across Australia.
EML Group General Manager, Mutual Benefits, Simone Witschge said "The EML Group is proud to partner with Cancer Council through the Mutual Benefits Program. As Australia's leading cancer charity, Cancer Council offers unmatched expertise in cancer prevention, research, and support.
