'Cancer Cruise Date announced for November 2021'

Join our one-day, Australia wide, Cancer Cruise to raise funds for cancer research

Drivers and their families around Australia will buckle up on Sunday, 28 November for the second Cancer Cruise in 2021. In March this year, 300 people successfully raised $92,000 which was the start of a fantastic new way to raise much needed funds to beat Cancer.

The team behind the much-loved Box Rallies (Shitbox and Mystery Box Rally) are the driving force behind this fundraiser whom over the past eleven years, have raised more than $26.5 million for cancer research.

Box Rallies was founded by James Freeman after he lost both of his parents to cancer 12 months apart.

"It's wonderful to be relaunching Cancer Cruise for its second outing. The last Sunday in November is now and for the future, the day Australia Cruises to fight cancer. Cancer Cruise is a relaxed, enjoyable, family friendly fundraising project that is open to anyone and everyone. All fundraising takes place prior to the day itself so teams can enjoy a day with their families and friends.

Cruising on one day nationwide we hope to push the message that every dollar raised by anyone that participates not only goes to the right place, but also really does make a difference. For our second Cancer Cruise we hope to double our first-year funds raised with a target of $200,000.

Cancer Cruise, part of Box Rallies, funds the highest ranked research programs as listed and vetted by Australia's cancer research scientific community from the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC). Funding via the NHMRC is a Cancer Council initiative and as our partners they steer how the funds are distributed so they benefit all Australians to the highest level." James said

With many of Cancer Council's fundraising event in 2020 forced to cancel, postpone, or change format due to COVID-19, James expressed that fundraising events like Cancer Cruise were critical for the future of cancer research.

Cancer Cruise events are being held in every state and territory on 28 November 2021. This family-friendly event will see participants tackle fundraising, then enjoy a relaxed drive, morning tea and lunch and a final social gathering.

Participants can register now to join the cruise and raise funds for essential cancer research.
