Cannabis crop located at house fire at Sandy Creek, SA

Police are investigating a fire at a Sandy Creek house this morning, according to SA Police.

Just before 6.30am, police and fire crews responded to reports of a fire at a Williamstown Road home.

The blaze was extinguished by fire crews but not before causing extensive damage to the house. Fortunately, no person was injured by the fire.

A hydroponic cannabis crop was located inside the property.

Police Fire Cause Investigators attended and examined the scene to determine the cause of the fire.

The sole occupant of the home, a 32-year-old man from Sandy Creek, is currently assisting Barossa CIB with their investigations.

Police also wish to remind the public of the dangers of growing cannabis and diverting electricity, not only is it illegal but it can often cause fires.
