About 6.50pm, a white Ford Ranger utility was travelling in a north easterly direction on Nicholson Road when it hit a beige Toyota Yaris hatchback travelling in the same direction. The Ford Ranger crossed the median strip and struck a tree before rolling.
The driver, a 42-year-old man, sustained critical injuries in the crash and died at the scene.
The 23-year-old female driver of the Toyota Yaris was uninjured.
