Car crashes into Carlisle home, WA

Around 2.20am this morning (13 August 2018), Cannington Police were on patrol when they sighted a white Mazda vehicle travelling at speed along Shepperton Road in Victoria Park. Officers observed the vehicle weave across the road.

Officers activated their vehicle’s emergency lights and siren in an attempt to stop the vehicle. It will be alleged the driver failed to stop and accelerated away, WA Police say.

As officers were seeking authorisation to commence pursuing the vehicle, the driver of the Mazda lost control of the vehicle, and crashed into a home on the corner of Oats and Jupiter Streets in Carlisle.

Four occupants of the home were inside at the time of the crash. One person received a minor injury caused by a dislodged brick.

The home was extensively damaged.

The driver of the Mazda, a 23-year-old woman from Mt. Hawthorn has been charged with:-

•Exceed 0.05%;

•Driver of vehicle failed to comply with a direction to stop; and

•Reckless driving to escape pursuit by police.

She is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 31 August 2018.
