Upgraded car park at Jones Beach

Council has completed its $600 000 car park blitz, providing improved access and safety at a number of informal car parks around Kiama.

The upgrades include the expansion, surfacing and line marking of the heavily-used car park opposite the Kiama Downs Surf Life Saving Club.

The new car park now provides 52 car spaces, including designated accessible spaces close to the popular beach and local shops.

The Bonaira Oval car park has also been completed with 47 car spaces supporting the new clubhouse and amenities.

It will also help with the congestion on surrounding streets when sport is being played.

Access to Kiama High School and Pre School on Shoalhaven Street has also been improved with the old car park now formalised.

We have also provided an access ramp and staircase to the Pre-School.

Access to Kendalls Beach has also been improved, with the informal car park at the south end upgraded to provide 19 car spaces to beach-goers.

Our thanks to contractors J.B.G Civil Pty Ltd who managed to complete the upgrades in a matter of months.

We were able to fund these works with additional support from the Australian Government through its Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
