A new partnership that will see Cardiff University undergraduate and postgraduate degrees offered at one of Singapore's leading private education institutions, has been officially signed.
Through this partnership, the profile of Cardiff University and SIM GE will be raised internationally, further enhancing its teaching activities in a global market.
Undergraduate programmes in Computer Science, and Computer Science with Security and Forensics, as well as postgraduate programmes such as MSc in AI + Statistical Analytics and MSc in Sustainable Supply Chain Management will be offered from October 2026 onwards.
"As part of being ambitious as an institution, moving into new areas of activity, and forging deeper and more meaningful educational engagement - today's partnership signing with SIM GE marks an important milestone," said Cardiff University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Wendy Larner.
"We'd identified transnational education (TNE) as a key initiative in our strategy for the future."
SIM GE is home to some 17,000 students from around 50 countries, and this partnership will see cohorts of students studying Cardiff University's undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in-country over the next few years - an important and symbolic partnership that helps us realise our international ambitions.
SIM GE partners with over 10 globally reputable universities from Australia, Canada, Europe, United Kingdom, and the United States, to offer over 170 academic programmes across disciplines. Joining this established global network, Cardiff University becomes the first member from the prestigious Russell Group university from Wales to partner with SIM GE.
"The partnership with Cardiff University represents an important milestone in strengthening SIM GE's global network of university partners and in expanding high-quality educational pathways for our learners," said Professor Jorg Bley, Provost of SIM Global Education.
"With Cardiff University's academically rigorous programmes and strong focus on employability and real-world relevance, we are confident that our learners will be well positioned to realise their full potential. They will be equipped with the skills, global perspective and adaptability needed to succeed in a rapidly changing world and to contribute meaningfully to a resilient and sustainable future."
The partnership will start with two undergraduate programmes and two postgraduate programmes with students receiving Cardiff University degrees. It is forecasted that the annual student enrolment will rise to 100 over the next three years.
SIM GE will lead student recruitment for both the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Learners with a relevant diploma in Information Technology may be eligible for direct entry into the second year of Cardiff University's undergraduate programmes, with the curriculum delivered jointly by Cardiff University and SIM GE.
In addition, SIM GE will provide the physical learning environment as well as comprehensive pastoral care and career support services through its Learner Advisory and Career Centre.
Beyond the classroom, learners will also have access to close to 80 activity clubs, offering a wide range of opportunities in the arts, sports and other areas of interest, while helping them develop important soft skills such as communication, teamwork and leadership.
The partnership was officially signed by the University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Wendy Larner, and Professor Wei Kwok Kee, President and Chief Executive Officer, SIM, at the signing ceremony held at SIM Campus today (Monday 20th April, 2026).
