Carer-Inclusive Workplace Initiative

Department of Health

The Carer Inclusive Workplace Initiative helps organisations to create workplaces that support the valuable contributions of Australia's 3 million unpaid carers.

By becoming a carer-inclusive workplace, you can:

  • keep staff longer
  • reduce staff absences
  • boost team morale and engagement.

Organisations are encouraged to take a free self-assessment by answering 11 questions to receive:

  • a toolkit to show your support
  • your logo displayed on our website
  • info about formal accreditation.

Being inclusive also helps your organisation become an employer of choice.

Even if your workplace doesn't employ a carer now, chances are you will in the future.

This initiative is run by Carers Australia, the national peak body representing Australia's carers, and funded by the Australian Government.
