From the team behind Deli Bean Café and The Proprietor, Wodonga's latest restaurant, Casa 1872 Italian Ristorante, brings exceptional food, a welcoming atmosphere and quality service to High St.
Rommy Gill saw Wodonga as a vibrant community with a growing appetite for unique dining experiences, and decided it was time to bring his vision to life.
"We saw an opportunity to bring something a little different to the area - a place where people can gather and enjoy," Rommy said.
"Our menu celebrates the soul of Italy, featuring wood-fired pizzas, handcrafted pastas, fresh, locally sourced seafood, classic tiramisu, quality wine and rich espresso."
Initially offering a full dinner service from 5pm to 10pm, the team plans to introduce a lunch service once they have settled in.
The name Casa 1872 reflects the building's history and the team's desire to create a "home" for everyone who walks through the restaurant's doors.
"The building itself dates back to 1872, and we wanted to honour that heritage while infusing it with our own warmth and style," Rommy reflects.
Supported by a team of talented colleagues, Rommy says "our team is a blend of experienced hospitality professionals and passionate newcomers, all dedicated to creating memorable dining experiences."
"We pride ourselves on our team's diverse backgrounds, which help shape the welcoming atmosphere at Casa 1872."
Rommy is conscious of having a positive impact not just on customers, but also the broader food chain.
"We are committed to sustainability, prioritising an emphasis on minimising food waste and supporting local suppliers wherever possible."
Bringing seasonal menus, collaboration with local producers and the capacity to host special events throughout the year, Casa 1872 has discovered a recipe for success in the local area.
"For us, the most rewarding aspect will be building connections with our guests and creating a space that brings people together," Rommy concludes.
Located at 86A High Street, Wodonga, Casa 1872 Italian Ristorante is open Monday to Saturday from 5pm to 10pm.
