Case For Taking Bus

The City of Casey is making it easier for the community to get out and about, stay connected and enjoy new experiences through a range of community bus programs - from a weekly shopping trip to a day out exploring Victoria.

Council's community transport options support people of all ages, with a strong focus on helping older residents and community groups to stay active, social and engaged in everyday life.

Mayor Cr Stefan Koomen said having access to safe, welcoming and affordable transport is more important than ever as residents navigate cost of living pressures.

Cr Koomen said, "Getting out into the community, connecting with others and trying something new is so important for our physical and mental health."

"These much-loved programs help to remove barriers and support independence so our community can continue to do the things that they enjoy." he added.

Through these programs, Council is proud to support a thriving, connected community where residents can stay active, independent and involved at every stage of life.

2026 Community Bus Programs

  • Community Bus Hire for local groups

Council's Community Bus Hire program provides subsidised, easy‑to‑drive 12 seater minibuses for Casey‑based community groups, clubs and associations.

The service helps local groups to plan outings and stay connected, whether it is a local trip or a day out elsewhere in Victoria. Vehicles are automatic, well maintained and fitted with safety features including reversing cameras and GPS monitoring. One bus is wheelchair accessible.

Priority access is given to groups that support older people, people with disabilities, culturally diverse or LGBTQIA+ communities and people experiencing financial hardship.

Flexible half‑day and full‑day bookings are available, making it easier for groups to get together and enjoy time outside their usual settings.
