Cash and cannabis seized from drink-driver - Baulkham Hills

A man has been charged with mid-range PCA and drug offences following a vehicle stop in Baulkham Hills today.

About 3.20am (Saturday 7 September 2019), officers from The Hills Police Area Command conducting a Traffic Operation stopped a Toyota Hilux travelling east on the M2 motorway, Baulkham Hills, for a random breath test.

The driver, a 39-year-old man, was breath tested at the scene, which returned a positive reading.

Due to a strong smell emanating from the vehicle, officers conducted a search and located and seized more than 20kgs of cannabis leaf contained within large cardboard boxes and a gallon drum, and $5600 in cash.

The man was taken to The Hills Police Station where he was subject to a breath analysis which returned a reading of 0.114.

He was charged with possess prohibited drug, supply cannabis indictable quantity and mid-range PCA.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 16 October 2019.

His driver's license has been suspended.
