CBD Robbery Arrest

Three teens have been arrested following an incident on Hindley Street overnight.

About 6.15pm on Saturday 3 October, patrols responded to reports that a man had been assaulted and had his mobile phone stolen while at a business on Hindley Street in the CBD. The suspects then fled the scene.

Eastern District patrols responded quickly and located three suspects nearby, who were arrested without incident.

The victim sustained minor injuries.

A 16-year-old boy from Modbury was charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault. He was granted bail to appear in the Youth Court on 18 November.

A 17-year-old boy from Valley View was charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and other outstanding matters. He was refused police bail.

An 18-year-old man was charged with carrying an offensive weapon and hindering police. He was granted police bail to appear in the Magistrates Court on 24 November.

Detectives from Youth and Street Gangs Task Force are investigating.
