CCTV released after arson attack at Guildford

Detectives investigating a suspicious fire following a break-in at Guildford last year, have released CCTV footage as they appeal for public assistance.

About 6.30pm on Friday 2 November 2018, two men forced entry to a commercial premises on Woodville Road and deliberately set fire to clothing in the premises. Initial inquiries suggest an accelerant was used.

Fire crews were notified and attended to extinguish the blaze; however, clothing worth more than $200,000 were destroyed and there was significant damage to the building.

A crime scene was established and forensically examined.

Detectives from Cumberland Police Area Command established Strike Force Powdrill to investigate the fire and have now released CCTV footage of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man depicted is of a medium build. He is seen wearing a black hooded jumper, white t-shirt, black pants, and white shoes.

The second man seen fleeing the store by witnesses has only been described as wearing dark clothing.
