Sydney City officers are appealing for information after the Anzac War Memorial in Hyde Park was vandalised last week.
Just before midnight on Friday 11 September 2026, police were called to a memorial site in Hyde Park Sydney, following reports of malicious damage.
Police were told an unknown man walking with a group of people stopped and graffitied a pillar post before leaving the scene.
Despite efforts to clean the graffiti, the memorial remains damaged.
As investigations continue, police have released CCTV footage and images of the man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The man is described as being of Asian appearance, with short black hair and wearing glasses.
When last seen, he was wearing a navy-blue T-shirt and jacket, beige cargo pants and carrying a backpack.
