Central Australia to host NRL stars for Community Training Camp

Northern Territory Major Events Company

Rugby League fans in the Red Centre will have the chance to meet their NRL heroes as part of a Parramatta Eels Club Community Training Camp being held in Alice Springs from Tuesday, 26 to Friday, 29 November.

A range of community initiatives are planned over the four days, giving both locals and visitors numerous opportunities to meet their favourite Parramatta Eels players.

In addition to open training sessions at ANZAC Oval, members of the public will be able to meet and greet the Eels team at a number of free events and activities including coaching clinics, school visits and community presentations.

An initiative called 'Eels go Shopping' is also planned, which will see members of the team work with young men of the Clontarf Foundation to assist local shoppers with their groceries from Woolworths in the Yeperenye Shopping Centre.

Following the Community Training Camp, the Parramatta Eels will return to the Territory in April next year as part of an ANZAC Day Eve clash against the Brisbane Broncos in Darwin.
