CERTA surrenders Ofqual recognition

placeholder

Open College Network Yorkshire and Humber Region (trading as CERTA) has surrendered its status as an Ofqual-recognised awarding organisation. This was a planned exit to rationalise CERTA and another recognised awarding organisation: Skills and Education Group Awards (SEG Awards). This concluded with CERTA formally notifying Ofqual in May 2019 of its intention to surrender recognition. The surrender took effect as of 20 June 2019. From this date, no qualifications offered by CERTA are regulated by Ofqual.

SEG Awards have taken on all of CERTA's qualifications, where there were learners on programme. Learners currently undertaking qualifications previously offered by CERTA will now be supported by, and be certified through, SEG Awards.

When awarding organisations are considering surrendering their recognition, our recognition team stand ready to discuss the options for proceeding whilst ensuring learners are protected.

A full list of currently recognised awarding organisations and regulated qualifications can be found on the Register of Regulated Qualifications.
