Chadstone, Mt Waverley Pathway Projects Begin

Scotchmans Creek trail in Chadstone

We'll soon be starting work on two projects that will improve pedestrian and cyclist access and make it easier and safer to enjoy the great outdoors in Monash.

An upgrade of the Scotchmans Creek Trail shared path in Chadstone will help meet increased demands on the trail at this location. And we're working towards completing the last missing section of the Waverley Rail Trail with the construction of a shared path from Jordanville railway station to Alvie Road in Mount Waverley.

The Scotchmans Creek Trail works include trail widening and replacement of the existing asphalt path with a 3m wide concrete shared pathway.

The Waverley Rail Trail works, which will improve connectivity and safety along the rail corridor, will include a 3m wide concrete shared path, fencing and gates along the railway line, traffic safety measures at driveways and road crossings, as well as planting and landscaping where required.

These projects build on the progress of our recently completed separated cycleway through the heart of Oakleigh that opened late last year.
