Chapel Street shoe thieves

Prahran police have released images of two women following thefts at a store on Chapel Street, South Yarra, last month.

It's understood two women entered the shoe store on 7 June shortly before 6pm.

One of the women placed a pair of shoes in her handbag; she was approached by the store worker and asked to put the shoes back.

The two women refused to return the shoes and left the store before returning and taking another box of shoes.

When the shop keeper approached the offenders for a second time, she was verbally threatened.

Both offenders left the store and walked north along Chapel Street.

The women are perceived to be African in appearance.

The first offender has a slim build and had black hair that was tied up.

The second offender has a solid build also with black hair that was tied up.

Police have released images of two women who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Anyone with information or who recognises the men is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
