Charges after home invasion, stabbing in Pagewood

Police have charged two men following investigations into a home invasion where a man was stabbed, and his son assaulted in their Pagewood home in September 2018, NSW Police say.

About 3am on Sunday 9 September 2018, three men allegedly forced their way into a granny flat at the rear of a property on Holloway Street, Pagewood, being occupied by two boys aged 15 and 17.

The three men allegedly threatened the occupants which was heard by their father who was home in the main house. He came to the aid of his boys and was stabbed several times in the abdomen. The 17-year-old boy was punched in the face causing bruising and swelling.

The three men fled, and police and NSW Ambulance paramedics were called.

The father and son were taken to St George Hospital where they were treated.

Investigations were commenced by detectives from Botany Bay Police Area Command resulting in the arrest of a 19-year-old man in Queensland on 22 November 2018.

He was charged with a NSW arrest warrant for the offence of special aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence- wounding, and aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence.

He was granted bail in Queensland and appeared in Central Local Court on 28 November 2018 where he was granted bail. He is scheduled to appear in the same court on Thursday 7 February 2019.

As inquiries continued, a 20-year-old man was arrested at 4.30pm yesterday (5 December 2018) on Botany Road, Mascot.

He was charged with special aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence – wounding, aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail and will appear in Central Local Court today (Thursday 6 December 2018).
