Charges after man indecently assaults two teens, steals camera, NSW

A man has been charged after allegedly indecently assaulting and stealing from two teenagers at Albion Park Rail at the weekend, NSW Police say.

About 2.15pm on Sunday 11 November 2018, two girls, aged 16 and 17, were taking photographs at Macquarie Rivulet Trail, Albion Park Rail, when they were approached by a 20-year-old man.

Police have been told the man pulled the camera from around one of the girl’s necks, before indecently assaulting them.

The girls ran home and reported the matter to their parents who contacted police.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District commenced inquiries and about 1pm on Monday 12 November 2018, a 20-year-old man was arrested at a Dapto shopping centre.

He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where he was charged steal from person and indecent assault (x2).

The man appeared at Wollongong Local Court yesterday (Tuesday 13 November 2018) where he was refused bail to re-appear at the same court on Tuesday 20 November 2018.
