Charges laid after e-bike rider seriously injured following a fail to stop crash in the states west earlier this year.
About 12.50pm on Monday 14 July 2025, emergency services responded to the intersection of Clinton and Dalton Streets, Orange, after reports an e-bike had been struck by a vehicle.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 75-year-old male rider before he was taken to Orange Base Hospital in a serious but stable condition. He has since been released.
Officers from Central West Police District attended and were told the driver of a Suzuki Swift failed to stop after the collision and drove off.
A crime scene was established that was later examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
Following inquiries, about 4.50pm that afternoon police attended a home on Margaret Street, Orange, and arrested a 19-year-old woman. A Suzuki Swift was also seized for forensic examination.
The woman was taken to Orange Police Station and later released pending further inquiries.
Following extensive investigations under Strike Force Nalkain, the 19-year-old woman was issued a court attendance notice yesterday (Wednesday 29 October 2025) for conceal serious indictable offence of other, hinder investigation serious indictable offence of other and responsible person/custodian not disclose driver's details.
She is due to appear in Orange Local Court on Friday 14 November 2025.
