Charges laid after teenage girl detained, assaulted during robbery in Cartwright

Three people have been charged after allegedly detaining a teenage girl and threatening her with a knife in Sydney’s south-west overnight, NSW Police say.

About 9pm (Monday 29 October 2018) a 17-year-old girl, and two women aged 18, went with a 25-year-old man went to a unit on Permian Drive, Cartwright, to meet a friend.

Once at the home, an altercation occurred, and the 17-year-old girl was allegedly detained by three people known to her and threatened with a knife.

She was assaulted and police will allege the girl’s mobile phone and laptop were stolen..

The 17-year-old girl fled the scene on foot and police were notified.

Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Several items were seized from the unit for further forensic examination.

Following inquiries, police arrested two women aged 18 and a 25-year-old man at the scene.

They were taken to Liverpool Police Station, where they were charged with take/detain person in company with intent to obtain advantage, robbery in company, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others, armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, and threaten injury to person with intent to commit an indictable offence.

All three were refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Tuesday 30 October 2018).
