Charges laid following glassing, NSW

A man has been charged after two men were injured in an alleged glassing incident near Port Stephens today, NSW Police say.

About 1.20am (Saturday 11 August 2018), two men, aged 42 and 43, were playing pool at a licensed premises on Shoal Bay Road, near Tomaree Road, Shoal Bay, when there was allegedly an argument with a third man.

Police will allege in court that, during the argument, the 43-year-old and 42-year-old men were struck with a schooner glass.

The men were taken to Nelson Bay Polyclinic for treatment for facial and hand injuries.

Officers from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District attended and arrested a 32-year-old man.

He was taken to Nelson Bay Police Station where he was charged with reckless wounding.

The man was granted conditional bail and is due to appear before Raymond Terrace Local Court on Monday 27 August 2018.
