Child hit by car outside school in Haberfield

A child has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car outside a school in Sydney’s Inner West this afternoon, NSW Police say.

Just before 3.15pm today, emergency services were called to Bland Street, Haberfield, after a six-year-old boy was hit by a car travelling at low speed.

The boy was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead with non life-threatening injuries.

The male driver of the car was breath tested at the scene and returned a negative result.

Officers from Ashfield Local Area Command will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police are reminding motorists and students to take extra care around buses and school zones.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
