Tianjin, People's Republic of China, 23 June 2025 - Li Qiang, Premier of the People's Republic of China, will deliver opening remarks at the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of the New Champions, taking place from 24 to 26 June under the theme, Entrepreneurship for a New Era.
Over 160 senior political leaders, from around 30 countries and regions will participate, including 40 cabinet ministers. Top leaders taking part include Daniel Noboa Azín, President of Ecuador; Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic; Ousmane Sonko, Prime Minister of Senegal; Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of Singapore; Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of Viet Nam. Select global leaders from government and the private sector will co-chair the event, which is expected to bring together over 1,700 participants from more than 90 countries.
Set against a backdrop of geoeconomic uncertainty and transformative technological change, the programme will examine how entrepreneurship and innovation can reignite growth amid shifting global conditions. Special attention will be given to emerging markets, as well as the economic trends shaping Asian economies.

The meeting will be accessible to the public through the livestreaming of over 50 sessions, including the Opening Plenary , Trade: Trends and Endgames , Geopolitics: An Unfolding Story and The Time of AI+ . New reports launching in the lead up to and during the meeting include the Energy Transition Index , the Top 10 Emerging Technologies report and the Future of Travel and Tourism . The Forum will also unveil the new cohort of Technology Pioneers - as the community marks its 25th anniversary - along with the inaugural cohort of MINDS , an AI Governance Alliance programme that aims to spotlight and scale high-impact AI solutions to global challenges.
