Beijing, People's Republic of China, 16 November 2021 - The World Economic Forum convened a Special Dialogue with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang for its members and partners.
Chaired by the Forum's Founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab, this session provided a singular opportunity for global business leaders to hear Premier Li's perspective on China's economic development.
Important insights into China's economic development, policies and priorities were provided.
Klaus Schwab said, "In the present situation, where we are confronted with intensifying global challenges such as political tensions, global supply chain issues and waning international cooperation, it is vital to cultivate dialogue and interaction with China. Therefore, the discussion with Premier Li Keqiang comes at a crucial moment, allowing the international business community to hear China's views."
Premier Li said, "We want to work with all countries to fight the pandemic and promote economic recovery. We need to keep industry and supply chains stable, and we need to enhance coordination of macro policies. Above all, we must remain committed to peace and development. Free trade and multilateralism have proven to be effective in safeguarding global peace. We may focus on commerce, trade and economy in our discussion, but we all need a peaceful environment for this to happen."
More than 300 business leaders from members and partners of the World Economic Forum participated in the virtual session.
