Christina And Miles Davis

Christina Hibbitt Davis, CECH '08, CAHS '15, and Miles Davis, UCBA '17, didn't just attend the University of Cincinnati. They built their lives here

Both grew up in Greater Cincinnati and met while they were UC students - on different campuses - at a family gathering. Miles was a walk-on running back for the football team. Christina had already begun charting her path in social work. Their connection wasn't immediate, but Cincinnati has a way of bringing people back together.

They shared hometown roots. Mutual friends. Even the same optometrist.

When Miles asked Christina out in 2009, he had temporarily left UC to follow in his father's footsteps and become a firefighter for the City of Cincinnati. Their first date led to a second - and during a Memorial Day weekend gathering hosted by future Hamilton County Commissioner Alicia Reece, both realized something bigger was unfolding.

"That was definitely a game-changing date," Miles said. "It was kind of confirmation that we're both on the same page."

They married in 2012. At the time, Christina was completing her master's in social work while also earning a different kind of reputation - for her cookies.

"I started bringing cookie samples to class and to the UC Medical Center's emergency room where I was working," Christina said. "People kept saying they were the best cookies they'd ever had."

When a UC security guard offered to pay $15 for a dozen chocolate chip cookies, the idea clicked. The Davis Cookie Collection was born.

What started in UC classrooms and hospital break rooms has grown into a thriving Cincinnati business, complete with a storefront and a cookie truck that appears at UC events. The company employs UC students, continuing the cycle of opportunity.

Today, Miles serves as a lieutenant with the Cincinnati Fire Department and holds an associate's degree in emergency services from UC Blue Ash. Christina leads a growing brand rooted in homemade recipes and entrepreneurial grit. Together, they're raising three children - one of whom will soon attend football camp at UC.

"We're so appreciative to have been UC students," Christina said. "Education is very important, and it gave us the foundation for our business. UC is a huge part of the story, and without it we wouldn't be where we are."

For the Davises, being Bearcats for Life means more than alumni pride. It means building careers in Cincinnati. Launching businesses in Cincinnati. Serving the community in Cincinnati.

It means staying and giving back to the city that helped them start.
