The City of Canada Bay is set to come alive this December with a series of festive events and community celebrations for residents of all ages.
Santa is coming to town on Saturday, 6 December! He'll be cruising the streets from 12-5:30pm in a vintage fire truck handing out candy and taking photos with families. This event is proudly supported by Canada Bay Club.
Christmas activities in Rhodes
The newly opened Rhodes Recreation Centre will host Christmas activities on Saturday, 6 December from 1-4pm, with music, family-friendly fun and a special appearance from Santa at 1:30pm.
Christmas activities in Five Dock
Families can also enjoy free Christmas activities in Five Dock on Saturday, 6 December from 1-4pm at Fred Kelly Place, featuring carols, festive entertainment and a visit from Santa at 3:30pm.
Drummoyne will come alive for the Festive Formosa Street Party across two days, transforming the street an the connected Shared Space into a vibrant hub of Christmas cheer. The event will run on Saturday, 6 December from 4-9pm and Sunday, 7 December from 11am-3pm. There will be a special visit from Santa at 5pm! Proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with the City of Canada Bay, the event is part of Plug & Play Canada Bay.
Community events
A number of community Christmas events will be held throughout December, including:
- St Pat's Italian Christmas Festival - Friday, 5 December, 5-8pm at St Patrick's Parish, Mortlake
- Christmas on Majors Bay Road - Thursday, 11 December, 5-7pm on Majors Bay Road, Concord
- Carols at Halliday Park - Wednesday, 17 December, 5-9:30pm at Halliday Park, McGrath Avenue, Five Dock
Giving Trees
As part of Council's partnership with the St Vincent de Paul Society, Giving Trees have been installed across the City to support residents in need this Christmas. Community members are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items, new toys, toiletries and gift cards before Friday, 19 December. Giving Tree locations include:
- Drummoyne Civic Centre
- Five Dock Library
- Concord Library
- The Learning Space, Rhodes
- Rhodes Recreation Centre
All donated items will be distributed by St Vincent de Paul to support vulnerable individuals and families during the festive season.
