Christopher Lathan, MD, MS, MPH, has been promoted to Chief Clinical Access and Equity Officer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a new institutional leadership position that also adds him to Dana-Farber's Executive Leadership Team.
In this new role, Lathan will lead system-wide efforts to combat structural racism and improve health care outcomes for all patients and communities served by Dana-Farber by implementing new initiatives to reduce disparities in access to care. Lathan will also partner with community and local leaders to address common challenges, such as health equity, social justice, and racism. This new role will combine elements of Lathan's work leading Dana-Farber's Cancer Care Equity Program with his efforts through the Dana-Farber Network to enhance our research across all communities, and to create greater access to care.

Lathan has been a member of the Dana-Farber staff since joining the Thoracic Oncology Program in 2005. He was appointed the first Faculty Director of Cancer Care Equity at Dana-Farber in 2010 and directs our clinical service at Whittier Street Health Center. Lathan also serves as Medical Director for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Brighton and Associate Medical Director for the Dana-Farber Network. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
A graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine, Lathan completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at Boston Medical Center where he served as Chief Medical Resident in 2002. He completed a fellowship in Medical Oncology at Dana-Farber/Partners CancerCare in 2005.
