An alleged intruder was caught by police in the city this morning.
Police were called to a break-in at a residential property in Hume Lane, Adelaide about 6.15am on Sunday 4 January.
The occupants confronted the intruder and attempted to restrain him, however, the suspect managed to break free.
One of the victims, a 27-year-old man, suffered minor injuries in the scuffle and a suspected broken leg while trying to chase the suspect and was taken to hospital by ambulance. He did manage to recover their stolen property.
Patrols cordoned off the area and searched for the suspect. Police Dog Webster was called in to assistance, and with patrols tightening the net, the suspect was allegedly discovered by PD Webster and handler in a rear yard a short time later.
The 36-year-old Mount Barker man as arrested and charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, theft and assault.
He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow, Monday 5 January.
