City of Casey wins Australian Business Award

The City of Casey has been recognised as an ABA100 Winner in The Australian Business Awards 2022 for Change Management.

Now in their 17th year, the awards are an annual all-encompassing awards program that recognises organisations that demonstrate the core values of business innovation, product innovation, technological achievement and employee engagement via a set of established business and product award categories.

Council won the award for its Evolve Home/Land installation and virtual tour. While developing the Organisation and Transformation strategies, the City of Casey saw the need to engage their employees and did so in an innovative and creative way.

In collaboration with internationally acclaimed artists Isabel and Alfredo Aquilizan, Council's Change Management and Arts and Cultural Development teams facilitated workshops where participants created models that answered the question 'how should our organisation evolve over the next five to 10 years?' The cardboard models were made from 100 per cent recycled workplace sourced materials and the foresights provided were built into Council's Organisational and Transformation strategies.

City of Casey CEO Glenn Patterson said being named among Australia's top 100 business, innovation and technology leaders is an astounding achievement.

"The Evolve Home/Land engagement has been an impressive and valuable project, and the award affirms Council's commitment to continuous improvement and innovative business processes," he said.

"The conversations amongst project participants were inspiring, the models were amazing, and have come together to create an installation representing how the City of Casey, as an organisation, is evolving. The project also completed a 360-degree feedback loop between our communities, our organisation and back to our communities.

"Ultimately, the foresights our people provided through Evolve Home/Land will result in the services being delivered by Council matching our communities' needs."
