City Of Perth Celebrates Bike Month

The City of Perth is partnering with WestCycle to celebrate Bike Month 2026, with two free events this month.

  • Bike Fun Day | Saturday, 10 October | 10am to 1pm | Point Fraser

Designed for all ages and riding abilities, the family friendly event will feature a bike obstacle course and adventure trail, trishaw rides, free bike checks, a blender bike, face painting, arts and crafts, free ice cream and cycling information and resources.

  • Ride2Work Breakfast | Wednesday, 14 October | 7am to 9am | Barrack Square

Whether you regularly bike to work or want to give it a try for a day, join us for a free sausage sizzle and coffee breakfast, have your bike checked and pick up some information from Bikelinc on your ride into work.

City of Perth Lord Mayor Bruce Reynolds said Bike Month was the perfect time to build a new habit for anyone thinking about a new way to commute, get fit or just have fun.

"The City has fantastic bike and dual use paths that showcase our stunning Swan River backdrop and green spaces," he said.

"A scenic commute to the City on your bike can often be faster than driving or catching public transport, and of course it has added health and environmental benefits.

"As part of our Capital City Plan, we are committed to making Perth an increasingly bike friendly city, with continued investment in infrastructure to let you enjoy your ride, whether it's for work or leisure."

You can take your bike on trains during off peak times, weekends and public holidays and anytime on Transperth ferries.
