And Love Will Steer the Stars

Sunday 25 May, 7pm

The Concourse Concert Hall, Chatswood

In a special celebratory event, the worlds of rock and classical music collide as the inspiring Willoughby Symphony Orchestra joins forces with rock legends 1969 Band to take you on a journey through music's golden year 1969, at Vivid Sydney at Chatswood.

The first man on the moon, Woodstock, President Nixon, The Beatles' Abbey Road, John and Yoko's Bed In, the Cold War…1969 was a year when the world was entering a new era, all to the soundtrack of some of the most seminal and radical rock and pop music.

Experience classics like Elvis Presley's Suspicious Minds, Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline and David Bowie's Space Oddity played by a full scale orchestra in the state-of-the-art venue, The Concourse.

Let your hair down and immerse yourself in an atmosphere of peace and harmony as you rock to a selection of favourites from The Beatles, Touch Me by The Doors and Pinball Wizard by the Who. The evening wouldn't be complete without the positive vibes of Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In from Hair, perfectly capturing the optimism of the era.

Conducted by internationally renowned conductor George Ellis, Willoughby Symphony Orchestra is widely celebrated for their electrifying performances and innovative musical styles.

1969 Band have delighted audiences at concerts and festivals across Australia with their fusion of soul, rock and folk sounds encapsulating the sounds of the time.

Part of this year's Vivid Music program, And Love Will Steer the Stars is a one-off revival not to be missed.
