Cleaning up around the house or backyard is even easier this month with half price mattress week and free green waste week at the City of Ballarat Transfer Station.
Next week, Saturday 16 November to Friday 22 November is half price mattress week.
During this week only, residents planning on buying a new mattress over Christmas can dispose of their old one at the City of Ballarat Transfer Station for $15, which is half the normal price.
The City of Ballarat will once again help Ballarat residents prepare their properties this fire season during free green waste week.
With the fire danger period approaching, now is the time to identify risks on your property and prepare to reduce the spread, speed and intensity of fire by clearing your property of long grass and flammable material.
Between Saturday 23 November and Friday 29 November residents are welcome to drop off domestic green waste free of charge at City of Ballarat Transfer Station.
During November, City of Ballarat Transfer Station opening hours are 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday and 8am to 4pm, Saturday and Sunday.
Green waste must be separated from other waste and loads must not exceed three cubic metres.
Residents who bring non-green waste and mixed loads will be charged at normal rates.
