Climate Group re-opens China office

The Climate Group

13 October 2022, Beijing - International non-profit Climate Group has re-opened its office in Beijing, China.

Climate Group's mission is to drive climate action, fast. We work with leaders and decision makers from business and government to drive net zero carbon emissions. Our work is focused on systems with the highest emissions, where these networks have the greatest opportunity to drive change, including energy, transport, built environment, industry and food.

Climate Group's China office was re-opened and registered earlier this year with the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and Beijing Municipal Bureau of Public Security in compliance with legal requirements governing activities of international NGOs in China.

Yuming HUI, Executive Director of Climate Group China, said: "Our aim is to become a trusted partner of China's policymakers and business leaders in helping achieve a faster reduction of carbon emissions. We will strive to help bring successful expertise and thoughts to China, as well as exemplary stories of progress to the rest of the world to inspire others to go even faster. Climate Group's work across governments, businesses and systems at a global level can be adapted to support China's 30/60 climate goals to help accelerate the country's decarbonisation process and elevate its leadership role in climate action."

"China can play a significant role in the global effort to tackle climate change. Our China office will allow us even more opportunities for working collaboratively with key decision makers across these system areas, harnessing the potential of these networks to help tackle climate change and achieve prosperity for all."
