Alice Springs family business Hunter&Co Designs is bringing their unique wearable art to the world stage at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan.
Expo 2025 Osaka officially opened its doors to the public on 13 April.
Between now and October 2025, more than 28 million visitors are expected to attend the World Expo.
The World Expo provides a unique opportunity for Territory businesses such as Hunter&Co Designs to enter new international markets, foster new relationships and attract business and investment opportunities.
Minister for Trade, Business and Asian Relations Robyn Cahill said the government's trade team helped connect Hunter&Co Designs owner Naomi Hunter to Expo 2025 Osaka organisers.
Ms Hunter was then engaged by Global Hospitality Group to become a supplier.
Hunter&Co Designs earrings will be on display at the Australian Pavilion alongside other great Australian products and services.
"It is fantastic to see Territory businesses like Hunter&Co Designs excel on an international stage by showcasing their products at Expo 2025 Osaka," said Ms Cahill.
"Visitors to the Expo can pick up their own piece of unique wearable Territory art.
"Participating in high-profile international events such as World Expo 2025 Osaka demonstrates the Territory is a reliable partner in trade, investment, and development.
"Building these relationships with our Asian neighbours was part of the reason why the CLP brought back the Asian Relations portfolio to help businesses expand and play a part to rebuild the economy.
"We promised 2025 would be a year of action, certainty and security."
Ms Hunter said: "We are so beyond proud to have our local Red Centre inspired designs on display and available for purchase, on the global stage. We continue to give this little business a red-hot crack, that started in the heart of Alice Springs CBD three years ago.
"Being a small business supplier and the only earring provider on the Australian World Expo cart, has really opened many doors and raised our profile beyond what we could have imagined," she said.
Ms Hunter registered the business, Hunter&Co Designs, in 2022, after purchasing polymer clay to make earrings inspired by the Northern Territory's nature and wildlife.
Since then, the business has continued to grow with Hunter&Co Designs earrings stocked in local art galleries, to wholesale collaborations being stocked in the Northern Territory, South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia.
Hunter&Co Designs created exclusive collections for the Expo, featuring popular iconic landscapes: Standly Chasm, Devils Marbles and Uluru.
More than 150 countries are expected to participate in the World Expo, providing an opportunity to strengthen the Northern Territory's deep bilaterial relationship with Japan and showcase the best of the Territory to the rest of the world.
