The Finocchiaro CLP Government is again backing Territory producers, opening Round 2 of the Agricultural Value-Add Grant to boost jobs, investment, and innovation across the Territory's $1.4 billion primary industries sector.
Eligible NT-based producers can now apply for up to $50,000 in matched funding to support new or expanded value-adding projects - from processing and packaging to logistics, marketing, and production systems.
"Agriculture and fisheries are core to rebuilding the Territory economy - and we're backing producers with real investment, not red tape," said Mr Maley.
"As part of our year of action, certainty and security, we're unlocking growth through co-investment, industry partnerships and practical support that drives results."
Round 1 of the program delivered over $500,000 in grants to 14 Territory businesses, with private sector co-contributions generating more than $6.3 million in direct investment into the Territory's economy.
"Whether it's building sawmills, upgrading processing facilities, or investing in agri-technology, - this is how you grow regional jobs and production capacity," Mr Maley said.
"It's about making the Territory more competitive, more productive, and more self-sufficient."
African Mahogany Australia located in the Douglas Daly region received a grant in Round 1 to establish a sawmill and timber workshop
"We were able to create samples from the workshop to be sent to the trade, packs of timber to go to auction to establish market interest and price, and various end use products to demonstrate its beauty and quality as finished furniture products," said African Mahogany Australia Operations Manager Mark Standish.
"We have a busy season ahead as wood flows commence across the plantation. The grant was a terrific boost to get us on to the track, and we are adding more machines and skilled labour to this year's program."
Round 2 is open now and closes on 3 November 2025.
Grants of up to $50,000 are available on a minimum 50% co-contribution basis for eligible NT primary producers looking to expand their value-add capabilities.
