CLP Revamps Tennant Creek Streetscape

A $2.95M revitalisation project in Tennant Creek town centre has been completedThe project saw upgrades on Paterson Street and Memorial Drive with improved shading and cooling, lighting, signage and landscaping.The CLP Government is committed to restoring the unique Territory lifestyle for Territorians whenever they live.

The Finocchiaro CLP Government is delivering for Tennant Creek, with a $2.95 million revitalisation project now complete-another step in restoring the unique Territory lifestyle locals value.

The project saw upgrades on Paterson Street and Memorial Drive including:

cooling through installation of structures for shade installation of garden bedstree planting and tree guardsnew wayfinding signageinstallation of water bubblersupgrades to existing seating and tables

Minister for Housing, Local Government and Community Development and the Member for Barkly, Steve Edgington, said the CLP Government was committed to restoring the Territory lifestyle, no matter where Territorians live.

"As part of our year of growth, certainty and security, the CLP is delivering improvements for the people of Tennant Creek.

"I'm pleased that our town centre is getting the attention that it needs under this government with this revitalised streetscape with improved shading and cooling, lighting and landscaping.

"These upgrades also deliver on our commitment to reduce crime, with improved lighting to boost safety in Tennant Creek, with the upgrade design including features that strengthen surveillance and sightlines.

"We are determined to make Tennant Creek once again a great place to live, work, visit and invest and improvements like this play a big part," Mr Edgington said.

Works were delivered in smaller works packages in order to facilitate a staged delivery of the project and minimise disruption to town activities.
