Thousands of jobs and more than $3 billion of procurement opportunities throughout Central Queensland will be highlighted to the state’s resource and construction supply chain at an online industry conference in November.
In a first for the industry, the Connecting Coal Conference Queensland will present decision makers from seven major metallurgical and torbanite projects based in the Bowen Basin who have all come together to present their plans for construction and development.
Event organiser, Connecting Industry managing director Kieran Moran said the event was designed to assist the resource, construction, engineering, manufacturing, logistics and services sector on the latest project and procurement information.
“The Connecting Coal Conference Queensland aims to stimulate procurement, business development, and solution-based opportunities by presenting latest supply chain opportunities,” Mr Moran said.
“The strategic focus of the conference is to highlight metallurgical and torbanite coal mining projects and their potential procurement opportunities over the next three years to assist industry and the supply chain in their planning for future work opportunities.”
The projects being presented at the Connecting Coal Conference Queensland include:
- Broadmeadow East Mine;
- Cook Colliery Mine;
- Mavis and Millennium Downs Metallurgical Coal Mine restart
- Issac River Coking Coal Project;
- Gregory Crinum Underground Mine; and the
- Alph Torbanite Project.
Delivered via live video streaming, Mr Moran said the event is facilitated by a dedicated conference platform allowing all attendees to connect, engage, network, and have private face to face meetings with presenting project speakers, exhibitors, and all attendees.
“Like face-to-face events, the main objective is to learn about the latest opportunities available and to network with all delegates,” he said.
“The conference platform allows attendees to receive the correct information and ask questions about project procurement opportunities as well as have live face-to-face meetings with all presenting project speakers and other attendees via private rooms, exhibition booths, and networking tables.”
The Connecting Coal Conference Queensland is being held on Thursday, November 11 from 8.30am (AEST).
