Cocaine And Methylamphetamine Seized At Winton

Police have charged a 31-year-old man with dangerous drug offences following a vehicle search at Winton on 1 February.

It will be alleged around 12.30pm, police intercepted a campervan along Landsborough Highway following routine patrols.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a large quantity of cocaine and methylamphetamine.

A 31-year-old man from New South Wales has been charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, and one count each of supplying dangerous drugs, possessing tainted property, and contravening order about information necessary to access information stored electronically.

He has been remanded in custody and due to reappear before Longreach Magistrates Court on 14 April.

Capricornia District Detective Inspector Luke Peachey said that police will continue to detect, disrupt and deter illegal drug activities in our community.

"This is an example of proactive policing that resulted in a large quantity of harmful and illicit drugs being removed from the streets," said Detective Inspector Peachey.

"We will continue working to identify those involved in the illegal drug trade and bring them before the courts."
