CommBank Junior Matildas Head Coach Michael Cooper has confirmed the 23-player squad ahead of the ASEAN U16 Girls' Championship 2025™ to be held in Indonesia from Monday, 18 August to Friday, 29 August.

Australia drew Thailand in their first match of the ASEAN U16 Girls' Championship 2025™ and will play at Sriwedari Stadium on Thursday, 21 August.

The CommBank Junior Matildas match details are as follows:

Singapore v CommBank Junior Matildas

Date: Saturday, 23 August 2025

Kick-off: 7.30pm WIB / 10.30pm AEST

Australia is in Group C alongside Singapore and Thailand, Group A features the host nation Indonesia, Malaysia, and Timor-Leste, and Group B is made up of Vietnam, Myanmar, and Cambodia.

The teams play in a single round-robin format with the top team from each group and the best-performing second-placed team advancing to the semi-finals.

The ASEAN U16 Girls' Championship 2025™ will be the first time this group of CommBank Junior Matildas represent Australia, as well as their first international competition.

Mike Cooper said he is excited to lead this team to their first international competition and to begin to lay the foundations for the next generation of CommBank Junior Matildas.

"The squad selected today is a result of months of work the team and I have been undertaking to assess the emerging talent from across Australia's elite youth development pathways," Cooper said.

"We have worked closely with Member Federations and clubs to ensure we are casting a net wide and giving players the opportunity to show what they can bring to the national team setup. It has been a challenge to select 23 players, and the door is open for those not selected to be involved in our next activity.

"The players that we have selected to travel to Indonesia to compete in the ASEAN U16 Girls' Championships 2025™ will grow from the opportunity of representing Australia for the first time and for being involved in an international competition of this size.

"It is the first time we will test the squad as we prepare for Qualifiers later this year and my aim is to build a supportive team environment where the CommBank Junior Matildas can dream big and flourish but also take ownership of their journey.

"The ASEAN U16 Girls' Championships 2025™ is the first crucial step in preparing for the upcoming AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup 2026™ and the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup 2026™, and it will help us identify the strengths of the group and how to best support them as we enter other international competitions."

The ASEAN U-16 Women's Championship 2025 ™ is an international women's youth football tournament organised by ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) and this is its fifth edition.

Returning after a five-year hiatus, the 2025 AFF U16 Women's Championship™ features nine participating teams, maintaining the number from previous editions held in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
