The CommBank Young Socceroos will begin their journey towards qualification for the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2027™, with Head Coach Trevor Morgan selecting a 23-player squad for the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ Qualification Phase in Vientiane, Laos.
Australia will face Laos, Malaysia and Indonesia as they look to secure their place at the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™, where the continent's representatives for the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2027™ will be determined.
The qualification phase also provides players with valuable competitive international experience, an opportunity to build momentum ahead of the domestic season, and a platform to showcase their talent to a broader international audience.
The 23-player squad features a strong domestic presence, with 17 players drawn from Australian clubs, while a further six are based with clubs in Europe and Japan.
14 members of the squad were part of the CommBank Young Socceroos side that claimed the ASEAN U-19 Boys' Championship, providing continuity within the group, while Archie Trimboli (Brentford FC), Jasper Chipman (Manly United) and Michael Pratezina (Macarthur Bulls FC) will join the Young Socceroos environment for the first time.
