Community Satisfaction Survey To Kick-off

Murray River Council

Murray River Council CEO Stacy Williams is encouraging residents to have their say if contacted as part of a new Community Satisfaction Survey.

The survey, undertaken every few years, aims to capture perceptions of Council services, facilities and communication, while identifying emerging needs across the region.

"Whether it's the services residents use every day, the facilities they rely on, or how they'd like to hear from Council, this feedback provides valuable insight that helps us make informed decisions for our communities," Ms Williams said.

"The survey is an important opportunity for residents to directly feed back into council operations, so we're encouraging people to take part if contacted."

Independent research agency, Taverner Research, will conduct the survey through phone interviews with randomly selected residents to ensure a broad and representative sample across different communities and demographics.

Mayor, Cr John Harvie said by taking part residents can help council better understand local priorities, experiences and expectations.

"The voices of our residents' are important, and this survey is one of the key ways Council can hear directly from our community about what is working well and where we can improve."

The survey will measure satisfaction across Council service areas, identify community priorities and benchmark some areas against previous surveys.

Surveys will now be undertaken every two years to track progress and ensure Council remains responsive to community needs.

Council reminds residents that the survey will be conducted on an Australian number by the authorised independent research agency on Council's behalf.

Participants will not be asked for financial information, bank details or passwords. If residents are unsure about the legitimacy of a call, they can contact Council directly to verify the survey.

The survey period will run from 25 May -11 June, 2026.

"We would love residents to take part if contacted - every response is useful," said Cr Harvie.
