Complimentary Parking from November to February

Greater Shepparton City Council are providing shoppers in the Shepparton central business district with complimentary parking from November to February to support local businesses.

From retail to hospitality, many local businesses have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes a decrease in revenue and foot traffic with businesses having to close their doors, operate using alternative methods and decrease the number of patrons allowed inside. A combination of lockdowns, quarantine requirements, restrictions and limited visitors travelling into the region have impacted on our local economy.

To assist with recovery from the pandemic and providing an additional incentive to shop locally and support local business, Council is providing complimentary car parking in Council-owned on street parking spaces for four months.

Time limits still apply for the parking spaces during this period and infringements will be issued if you overstay the time displayed on the signs for the area.

Complimentary parking begins on 1 November 2021 and ends on 28 February 2022, with paid on-street parking beginning again on 1 March 2022.

If you want to shop in the CBD you will be able to do so without having to pay for parking in council owned on street car parks. Take note of the street parking signs as time limits apply.

If however you have a big day of shopping planned, parking in an off-street longer stay car park or parking in an all-day space close to the CBD would be the best option.

The complimentary parking does not apply to the Multi Deck car park, GV Health or Carepark car parks.
